For many, a vacation is not only a rest and a reboot, but also an opportunity to gain new knowledge, change a profession or master a useful skill. However, the line between productivity and fatigue is often very thin. Valentina Kurenkova, the GR Director of Netology, told Izvestia on May 28 about how to combine rest with study correctly so as not to return to work even more tired.

According to her, during a vacation, you often want to take a break from work and recuperate, but at the same time, many people want to use their free time to learn a new skill or profession, to learn a language or improve their work skills. According to the expert, studying should not last all day.

When combining rest with study, it is important to plan your time wisely, Kurenkova emphasized. She recommended that you formulate a goal for yourself that you want to achieve in studying during your vacation.

"Coordinate your studies with your vacation schedule: write down all planned events and important dates on paper or in the application. Arrange the study material by day, taking into account the free hours between classes. At the same time, do not plan "marathons" of 8-10 hours of study in a row. It is better to study in short sessions — this way motivation is preserved and fatigue is not so strongly felt," Kurenkova advised.

She also noted that it is worth setting educational priorities — the main topics or skills that need to be mastered. They need to be focused on first. Time management tools can help here, such as the "tomato" method (working interval of 25 minutes, rest 5-10 minutes), she said.

"Keep a diary or a planner: fix tasks for each day. When everything is written down and unnecessary information does not need to be kept in mind, it reduces stress. The calendar will also remind you how much time you have left for rest and entertainment, and will help you plan your school hours correctly," Kurenkova said.

The expert recommended not to forget about the importance of the workplace. A desk in a hotel room, a cafe by the sea or a comfortable armchair on the terrace may be suitable for studying.

"The learning process should be enjoyable, not stressful. Keep a balance. After each learning task, give yourself a small reward: a walk, watching a movie, chatting with your loved ones," she concluded.

On May 22, Izvestia got acquainted with the results of a survey of the RuStore app store and Mail. According to them, 60% of Russians surveyed have a positive attitude towards the use of neural networks in their studies and work. Among those who interact with neural networks, the most popular scenario turned out to be the search for answers to questions: two thirds of users (66%) chose this option.
