Patrushev announced the allocation of 682 billion rubles for state programs in agriculture in 2024

In 2024, the government allocated 682 billion rubles for the implementation of four state programs in the field of the agro-industrial complex. This was announced by Dmitry Patrushev, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, at the final meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Agriculture on May 27.

According to him, these funds made it possible to preserve key tools to support the industry and ensure stable production. The total volume of grain harvested was almost 130 million tons.

Patrushev noted that the sowing campaign of 2025 has already covered 75% of the planned areas, and the limits of state support have been brought to the regions. He also recalled the instruction of Russian President Vladimir Putin to increase grain production to 170 million tons by 2030.

"Since the beginning of the implementation of the state program "Land", almost 2.5 million hectares have already been put into agricultural circulation. By the end of 2025, it is planned to increase this figure to 3 million," Patrushev said.

He stated that the growth was also recorded in animal husbandry. Meat and milk production increased in 2023, and eggs also increased in the first quarter of this year. The goal by 2030 is to add 4.5 million tons of milk and almost 3 million tons of meat.

According to him, the production of food products increased by 3.5%, beverages — by more than 9%. In addition, Russia has retained the status of a net exporter of food, having supplied 109 million tons of products to foreign markets.

In the fishing industry, the catch of aquatic biological resources last year amounted to 4.9 million tons, and aquaculture production reached 380 thousand tons. Self—sufficiency reached 138%.

Patrushev also stressed the importance of training new specialists and improving living conditions in rural areas.

Forecasters and the Ministry of Agriculture are cautious in their forecasts, while farms note a lack of moisture in the soil.

On May 23, Patrushev noted the importance of effective management of natural resources. According to him, the conservation of biological diversity is a challenge for all States, and international cooperation plays a crucial role here.
