Snowfall hits Novosibirsk region and Altai Territory

Frosts were recorded in the Novosibirsk Region and the Altai Territory, and snow fell in the regions. This was reported on the website of the Hydrometeorological Center on May 27.

In the morning, precipitation has been falling in Novosibirsk in the form of sleet and rain, followed by large flakes. According to forecasters, May 27 will be the coldest day of the week, the average daily temperature will be six to eight degrees below normal. The weather will remain cool in the coming days, but it will gradually warm up.

"Against the background of low atmospheric pressure, precipitation in the form of rain and sleet is expected in most areas, heavy in some places, icy phenomena in the north of Siberia, thunderstorms in some areas in the south of Western Siberia, and wind gusts of 15-20 m/s in some places," the Hydrometeorological Center said.

In Barnaul, the temperature was +4 degrees, and it was snowing wet. Storm warnings have been issued in the Altai Territory due to high fire risk and frosts up to -3 degrees, but no snow is expected in the coming days.

"Winter will leave Siberia by the weekend," Evgeny Tishkovets, a leading specialist at the Phobos Weather center, added in his Telegram channel.

In Moscow, forecasters predicted partly cloudy weather on May 27, with no precipitation and up to +27 degrees. In the Moscow region, it will be from +23 to +28 degrees during the day, and at night the temperature may drop to +11.
