Russia has requested a meeting of the UN Security Council amid threats to global peace due to the actions of European countries that are trying to prevent the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. This was announced on May 27 by Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations.

He clarified that Ukraine's "European sponsors" had requested a meeting on the humanitarian situation in the country on May 29.

"We decided to respond in a mirror manner and, in turn, requested a meeting in connection with threats to international peace and security due to the actions of a number of European states trying to hinder efforts to resolve the Ukrainian crisis peacefully," he wrote on the Telegram channel.

It is expected that the meeting may be scheduled for May 30.

On May 23, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov pointed to the share of responsibility of a number of European countries for Ukraine's crimes. According to him, the attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on Russian territory are a direct result of the support of the Kiev regime from Europe, led by Britain, France and Germany.
