With your head: when will the bathing season begin in Central Russia

Summer is only a few days away, but the summer heat has already arrived in some regions of Russia. In this regard, many people have a desire to swim or just relax outside the city by the water. For more information about when the bathing season begins in Central Russia, as well as the rules of behavior on the water in the heat, see the Izvestia article.
What will the weather be like in June 2025 by region
The first summer month will begin next Sunday. As Evgeny Tishkovets, a leading specialist at the Phobos weather center, wrote in his Telegram channel, the summer in Central Russia will be comfortable, but you should not expect extreme heat. According to him, June will be moderate in terms of temperature indicators, as well as with a slight excess of rain. July in Moscow will traditionally be hot and slightly arid. Extreme temperatures are also not expected. The excess of the average monthly temperature above the norm, as noted by Evgeny Tishkovets, will be no more than 2-2.5 degrees. August will be calm, the thermometer is expected to show a degree above normal. Precipitation will be close to normal.
The weather tends to change quickly, however, according to preliminary data, in Moscow in June it will be a comfortable +19...+24 degrees. In addition, there will be light precipitation for 14 days.
It will be slightly cooler in St. Petersburg, with an average temperature of about 20 degrees Celsius. There will be a little less rainy days, but the sun won't come out often either.
In Novosibirsk, the first days of June will be quite warm — from +18 to +27 degrees. However, light rains may also fall during the last half of the May week. After that, the air temperature will constantly stay within +18... +22 degrees.
In Yekaterinburg, the first week of June will be really hot, with maximum temperatures reaching 31 degrees Celsius. Then it will get a little cooler, 19-22 degrees above zero.
In Vladivostok, the air temperature in June will rise above 20 degrees only on the 8th, then until the end of the month the thermometer will show from +20 to +23 degrees.
In Sochi, as in Crimea, June in 2025 will not be hot. According to preliminary data, the air temperature there will be about 20-22 degrees Celsius.
The swimming season in Sochi usually lasts from May to October, but the most comfortable conditions for swimming there occur in the summer. At the moment, the water temperature in Sochi is +19 degrees. You can already swim in it, but not for long. The water there can warm up to a comfortable +22 degrees by the middle of the month, and in Crimea — closer to the end of June.
When the bathing season starts in 2025: rules of behavior on the beach
As forecaster Evgeny Tishkovets noted, the bathing season in Central Russia will begin in the second decade of June. The water will have time to warm up by this time.
It is important to remember that the weather often changes and the heat can come suddenly. So, until Thursday, +29 degrees are expected in Moscow and the Moscow region.
In the heat, most citizens rush to the water, and it is on such days that accidents related to overheating or sunstroke occur.
In order not to overshadow your day off, it is important to behave properly on the beach in the heat. To do this, you need to spend as little time as possible in direct sunlight. If this cannot be avoided, you should not forget about a hat or a special umbrella from the sun. It is also necessary to use sunscreens.
The most dangerous hours outside in the heat are from 11:00 to 16:00. This time should be spent in the shade or indoors. It is also important never to fall asleep on the beach under the rays of the scorching sun.
In addition, you need to stock up on enough water. It should be non-carbonated and warm. It's worth drinking it more than usual to avoid dehydration. It is better to exclude alcohol on such days, because its effect on the body increases greatly in hot weather.
Those who take food to the beach should eat it right away, rather than leaving it outside the refrigerator for a long time.
It is especially important to choose only specially equipped beaches for swimming. The water and bottom are being checked there, and rescuers and medical workers are working on the shore.
It is also important to remember about other bathing rules:
— it is better to go into the water 1.5–2 hours after eating;
— in stormy weather and at night, it is worth staying away from the coast, even if it is very hot;
— at the first signs of malaise, it is better to consult a specialist, and postpone bathing;
— it is important to avoid places with the movement of ships and other swimming facilities, as well as locks, bridges and catchments: swimming here is associated with a risk to life;
— it is forbidden to dive in unfamiliar places, as sharp rocks or metal objects may stick out near the surface of the water, which are not visible from the shore.
