Arsonist of volunteer headquarters in Leningrad region charged with terrorist act


The arsonist of the volunteer headquarters with humanitarian aid for the participants of the special operation and residents of the Kursk border region in the Leningrad region was charged with committing a terrorist act. This was reported on May 26 in the press service of the regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
"A 40-year—old man has been charged with committing a crime under paragraph "b" of Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code ("Terrorist act that caused significant property damage")," the Telegram channel says.
It was established that on the night of May 24, a man broke down the front door of the headquarters building in Podporozhye, illegally entered and set fire to the premises with humanitarian aid.
The department clarified that a petition has been filed for the election of a preventive measure in view of detention. Currently, actions are being carried out to establish the circumstances, causes and conditions of the incident.
The arson became known the day before. It was clarified that the building was completely burnt out. Inside were camouflage nets, medical supplies, and children's clothing. According to Tatiana Gadadina, the head of the "We are Together" volunteer headquarters, the arson was committed by a local resident.
