An earthquake of magnitude 5.7 was registered in Tarapaca, Chile. This was announced on May 26 by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).

It is specified that the epicenter of the seismic event was at a depth of 113 km and was located 102 km northeast of the city of Iquique with a population of 227 thousand people.
