Now in the UK, "horror stories" about the alleged threat of a Russian strike are losing their popularity. This was announced on May 25 by Russian Ambassador to London Andrey Kelin.

"Local media, even the most respected ones, are focused on looking for the Russian threat. There are endless conversations about this every day. <...> However, these horror stories are gradually losing their popularity," Kelin told RIA Novosti.

According to him, in this way they are trying to justify the deterioration of the population's life and the desire to increase defense spending to 2.5% of GDP.

On May 23, Kelin said that the United Kingdom was attempting to increase the combat capabilities of the Ukrainian Navy to hinder the actions of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. He stressed that since 2021, London has signed an agreement with Kiev to provide a loan of £1.7 billion ($2.2 billion) to finance contracts for the purchase of weapons and the construction of naval infrastructure.
