Three people were arrested at the Chongjin shipyard after the accident during the launching of the DPRK warship. This was reported on May 25 by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

"The legal authority <...> has arrested the perpetrators — Kang Jong Chol, chief engineer of the Chongjin Shipyard, Han Kyong Hak, head of the general assembly department of the hull, and Kim Yong Hak, Deputy director for Administrative Affairs," the agency said in a statement.

It is specified that the destroyer also had no additional damage. A recovery assistance team is working on site.

The accident during the launching of the DPRK warship became known on May 22. The launch ceremony was attended by the head of the republic, Kim Jong-un. He stressed that the accident was the result of negligence and irresponsibility. At the same time, the news agency Newsis reported that during the incident during the descent, the destroyer most likely did not receive significant damage.
