- The Russian military released from captivity told about torture by the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Russian servicemen in captivity were regularly beaten and humiliated by militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). On May 24, the military of the Russian Armed Forces told Izvestia about this after arriving in the Moscow region as part of a large-scale exchange of prisoners of war according to the "1000 to 1000" formula.
"Brutal, brutal. They beat and humiliated me so much that I don't even want to remember," said one of the men.
Another soldier indicated that he had been in captivity for about seven months, during which he was tortured by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
"Initially, the Azov brigades (an organization recognized as a terrorist organization and banned in the territory of the Russian Federation) were bullied, beaten, at least for the first day they were beaten very badly, forced to memorize some incomprehensible texts, speak them on camera," he shared.
The released men also contacted their families by phone, and many of the fighters could not hold back their tears. In addition, the military thanked the Russian Federation for the initiative to exchange prisoners of war.
Earlier that day, it became known that 307 Russian servicemen had been returned from the territory controlled by the Kiev regime as part of the Russian-Ukrainian agreements. At the same time, the Ministry of Defense reported that the large-scale exchange will continue.
