Calculation of self-propelled guns "Hyacinth-S" destroyed a mortar of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Red Army area

Servicemen of the Hyacinth-S 152-mm self-propelled artillery unit (ACS) of the 90th Guards Tank Division of the Center group of forces destroyed a mortar of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Red Army area in the area of the special operation. This was announced on May 24 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

The ministry noted that the enemy's fire raid was detected in a timely manner by operators of reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). His coordinates were promptly transmitted to the gunners, who advanced to the camouflaged gun. The soldiers fired a series of high-precision high-explosive fragmentation rounds, hitting a mortar.

It is specified that the calculations of unmanned aircraft carried out the adjustment of fire and control of target damage in real time. After the cease-fire, the ACS crew lowered the barrel of the gun and camouflaged it with branches in order to maintain the secrecy of the position and exclude the possibility of retaliatory firing by the enemy. The soldiers then retreated to a pre-prepared shelter.

The gunners of the tank formation of the Center group of forces in this area are actively destroying concentrations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and their strongholds, armored vehicles, artillery installations and other weapons. In addition, when working on lower sights, the calculations manage to hit various types of enemy UAVs, the Defense Ministry stressed.

"We destroy UAVs if our intelligence reports, we slam mortars, artillery, and counter-battery warfare. We are carrying out a counter-battery mission. When our UAVs detect the enemy, the coordinates are dropped to us and we fire on command," said Vitaly Naraev, deputy platoon commander.

At the first stage, 390 military personnel and civilians each return to Russia and Ukraine.

On May 23, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that Russian military personnel had destroyed several units of Ukrainian Armed Forces vehicles in the special operation zone using FPV drones. It was noted that the soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces identified several units of Ukrainian vehicles using UAVs.
