In the autumn of 2025, new passenger cars with longer shelves will start running between Moscow and St. Petersburg. This was announced on May 23 by the head of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov at a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

He said that the new T-size wagons with 2 m long shelves will be equipped with compartment wagons. On May 20, the manufacturer received a certificate of conformity for these wagons. A total of 38 such trains were planned to be launched on the route.

In T—size cars, there will be 40 seats in the compartment car instead of the standard 36, and 60 seats in the reserved seat instead of 54, the Newspaper added.Belozerov clarified that "this means that the shelves will be more convenient and, accordingly, it will be possible to be more comfortably located in such a car."

The carriages were also equipped with tables with built-in chargers, an individual temperature control system in each compartment, and folding tables for tablets and laptops located on the upper shelves.

Belozerov noted that the new wagons will provide more comfortable conditions for passengers and will run on the Moscow–St. Petersburg route starting in the autumn of 2025.

The Lastochka Moscow–Minsk international high-speed electric train, designed specifically for the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII), set off on its maiden voyage on April 22. The train was launched as part of the cultural and educational project "From Moscow to Brest by Victory Roads". According to Belozerov, the wagons are arranged in a certain order, the first of them characterizes the beginning of the war.
