The Baltic Sea, like Poland's eastern border, may become a place of constant confrontation. This was announced by Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a briefing at the Naval Operations Center in Gdynia on May 22.

"Let's not kid ourselves <...> The Baltic Sea will become a place of permanent hybrid confrontation, like the eastern border of Poland today," Tusk said, quoted by the Polish portal. PortalMorski.pl .

The politician noted that the Polish army is watching the events.

Tusk added that Poland needs to understand that incidents in the Baltic Sea may be repeated more intensively in the future.

On April 30, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Maritime Board Nikolai Patrushev said that due to the current military and political situation, additional measures are needed to neutralize threats to Russia's security at sea. After that, on May 20, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova noted that NATO's provocations in the Baltic Sea, which violated international law, should receive a clear assessment from the international community. According to the diplomat, Russia will also respond to the abuse of NATO naval vessels, especially if they affect the interests and safety of navigation of the Russian Federation.
