- Simion reported on the interference of four countries in the presidential elections in Romania

France, Poland, Moldova and Spain interfered in Romania's presidential elections. This was announced on May 22 by former Romanian presidential candidate George Simion in a complaint and a demand to annul the voting results filed with the Constitutional Court.
"[The French President] Emmanuel Macron indirectly demonstrated his support for [Bucharest mayor who won the election] To Nicusor-Daniel Dan, pointing out that the elections on May 18, 2025 are extremely important for Romania's correct European path," Digi24, which reviewed the document, notes.
It is reported that Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk also supported the mayor of Bucharest and compared him to the winner of the first round of the Polish elections, Rafal Trzaskowski. Simion also stated that Moldovan President Maia Sandu also called for voting for Dan. He added that the chairman of the Spanish People's Party, Alberto Nunes Feijoo, urged the Romanian diaspora not to trust Simion and stated that Dan's victory "would ensure Romania's European future."
The former candidate also noted that the US press had noted the facts of interference in the second round of elections by some European states.
On May 20, Simion stated that he was asking the Constitutional Court to annul the results of the country's presidential elections. He noted that the results of the vote could not be considered valid, as other states intervened in it.
