During the launching incident, the DPRK destroyer most likely did not receive significant damage. This was reported on May 23 by the Newsis agency with reference to the Ministry of Unification of the Republic of Korea.

"Based on the fact that instructions have been given to urgently restore the ship before the June plenum of the party, it is assumed that it has not received large—scale damage that would affect its functioning," the publication says.

It is specified that the DPRK authorities tried to use the transverse method of launching the ship. Currently, the destroyer is already on the water.
