Rubio noted the lack of military guarantees for Ukraine from the United States

The United States did not provide Ukraine with military guarantees under the rare earth metals agreement. This was announced on May 21 by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio at a hearing in the House of Representatives, his speech was broadcast on the Forbes Breaking News Youtube channel.

"There are no military guarantees," Rubio stressed, answering the relevant question.

He also noted that the American side retains the possibility of imposing new sanctions against the Russian Federation, but instead seeks to reach a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict through diplomatic means.
