Durov declared his readiness to travel to Romania and testify about the elections.

Pavel Durov, the founder of the Telegram messenger, announced on May 20 that he was ready to come to Romania and testify about possible interference in the presidential election in the country.
"I am ready to come and testify if it helps Romanian democracy," he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
This is how the founder of Telegram commented on the publication of the leader of the opposition Alliance for the Unification of Romanians party, George Simion, who lost the presidential race to the pro-European independent candidate Nicusor Dan and demanded a review of the results due to external interference.
Durov said on May 18 that one of the Western European countries had asked Telegram to block the channels of Romanian conservatives against the background of the presidential elections in the country. Then he announced his refusal. Later, Durov added that the French special services had made such a request.
