Artificial intelligence (AI) has great potential, but the possibilities of using neural networks in the field of macroeconomic analysis, forecasting, as well as in key rate issues are limited. This was announced on May 20 at the Alfa Summit by the head of the Central Bank of Russia, Elvira Nabiullina.

"We are trying to use the capabilities of artificial intelligence, I personally believe that there is great potential there, but not yet in macroeconomic analysis and forecasting," Nabiullina said, RIA Novosti quoted her as saying

The head of the Central Bank noted that the regulator is already using artificial intelligence when dealing with complaints from citizens. At the same time, Nabiullina stressed that AI will not be able to replace people in the field of key rate decisions.

"No model will catch it. Professional judgment in hypotheses is very important," she noted.

Earlier, on May 9, Alexander Kobozev, director of Data Fusion at the Digital Economy League, said that neural networks allow you to automatically collect, analyze and visualize data in a few seconds, which significantly simplifies workflows.

In his opinion, neural networks are unlikely to be able to completely replace humans in the near future, because the goal of AI is not to compete with humans, but to make their lives easier.
