The Central Bank pointed to the preservation in the Russian Federation of the norms on car wear during CTP payments.

The car wear rate for CTP payments in Russia is going to be maintained, otherwise its cancellation will entail a revision of tariffs. This was reported to Izvestia on May 19 by the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.

The regulator noted that now the main method of settlement of CTP is the payment of funds, taking into account depreciation.

"It seems that the approach proposed by the insurance community, when the victim can be repaired at a service of his choice for an amount that does not take into account the wear and tear of spare parts, at least does not worsen the human situation, but rather improves it with a high probability. At the same time, there is no talk of a complete abolition of the wear rule," the Central Bank explained.

Who's new: Russians will be able to receive CTP payments without taking into account car wear

This will be possible if the initial compensation was not enough for self-repair.

Earlier that day, it was reported that Russians would be able to receive a CTP payment without taking into account depreciation. This will allow Russians to repair cars at any service station, as well as receive the full amount from the insurer for self-repair of cars. Such a bill is currently being prepared for submission to the State Duma. The document has been agreed with the Central Bank.
