In the elections in Romania, where the pro-European candidate Nicusor Dan won, interference from foreign states, as well as globalists and "sorosists" was noticed. This was stated by the head of the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova, former President Igor Dodon.

"There is a direct interference of other countries in the election process. For globalists and progressives, all methods of pressure, manipulation and propaganda are allowed," he said, quoted by TASS.

Ilan Shor, the leader of the Moldovan opposition bloc Pobeda, also commented on the presidential elections, calling them an imitation with a previously known outcome for the West.

"The West repeated its fraudulent trick in the elections in Romania. The opposition was squeezed out, the pro-European diaspora was involved, and the loser was forced to admit false results. [Moldovan President Maia] Sandu openly campaigned for Nicusor Dan. Others acted surreptitiously," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

Shor cited as an example the French side, which tried to influence the elections through Telegram. He believes that such a scheme will be used in the parliamentary elections in Moldova, scheduled for this autumn.

On May 18, Romania held the second round of repeated presidential elections. It was reported that Romanian police removed the head of the opposition Alliance for the Unification of Romanians party, George Simion, and the favorite of the presidential elections canceled in 2024, Calin Georgescu, from a polling station in a Bucharest suburb.

Nicusor Dan, the mayor of Bucharest and candidate of the ruling Romanian party, won the election.

On the same day, Pavel Durov, the founder of the Telegram messenger, said that one of the Western European countries had asked the messenger to block the channels of Romanian conservatives against the background of the presidential elections in the country, but he refused. Later, the businessman added that the French special services had made such a request.
