Libyan National Security forces opened fire on demonstrators in Tripoli


The forces of the Libyan Government of National Unity (GNA) opened fire on demonstrators in Tripoli, there are wounded. This was announced on Friday, May 16, according to the agency Libya Press.
According to him, fire was opened on the demonstrators in the square near the headquarters of the Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority, Abdel Hamid Dbeiba. The protesters continue to demand his resignation.
"Armed elements linked to the Bbeiba government shot dead a protester with live ammunition near the Prime Minister's office and tried to run over other people with military equipment," the agency said in a statement on its Telegram channel.
Earlier, on May 15, protesters gathered outside the Libyan government building. They demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Abdel Hamid Dbeiba amid clashes in the city.
On May 14, the Al Wasat newspaper reported that military clashes had again occurred in several areas of Tripoli. Residents of the city expressed concerns that developments in the capital could lead to a large-scale conflict.
Armed clashes in Tripoli began on May 12 after the assassination of the head of the security service at the Libyan Presidential Council, Abdelghani al-Kikli. The local ambulance service reported six casualties. The next day, it became known that at least six people were killed in armed clashes in Tripoli.
