The US Treasury has authorized operations related to the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) and the Kazakh company Tengizchevroil. The corresponding license was published on the website of the American agency on May 15.

"All transactions prohibited by the definition of January 10, 2025, adopted in accordance with Section 1(a)(ii) of Executive Order 14071 (Prohibition of Oil Services), which are related to the Caspian Pipeline Consortium or Tengizchevroil projects, are permitted," the document says.

The previous license No. 121 expires on June 28, 2025.

Last November, Japanese Government Secretary General Yoshimasa Hayashi said that the impact of US sanctions on the Sakhalin-2 oil and gas project was unacceptable because of its energy importance.
