Zakharova sharply commented on Zelensky's words about the Russian delegation

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova commented on May 15 on statements by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky about the Russian delegation that arrived in Istanbul for talks with the Ukrainian side.
It is clarified that the head of the Kiev regime, arriving in Turkey, described the Russian delegation as a "sham."
"Who uses the word "fake"? <...> A person with an unknown education? In relation to people who have not just basic education, but academic degrees, merits before the Patronymic, who have proved their level of professionalism with their work. Is that what he calls them, props? Who is he?" said Zakharova.
She recalled that Zelensky came to power thanks to information technology and significant financial investments.
In addition, Zakharova drew attention to the fact that it was this Russian negotiating team that three years ago gave the Ukrainian president the opportunity to save both his country and his people, but he failed to take advantage of this chance.
On the same day, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the Russian delegation had arrived in Istanbul for talks with Ukraine and was ready for serious work. According to her, the purpose of these discussions is to "eliminate the root causes of the conflict, to establish a long-term lasting peace in the historical perspective."
On May 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin initiated direct negotiations, inviting the Ukrainian side to resume dialogue on May 15 in Istanbul.
On the eve of the meeting, the Russian leader approved the composition of experts for negotiations with Ukraine. The delegation will be headed by Vladimir Medinsky, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation. On the same day, the head of state held a meeting to prepare for the upcoming negotiations.
