Peskov: the duration of the talks in Istanbul will depend on their progress

The duration of the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul will be determined by their dynamics. This was announced on May 15 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
He recalled that discussions between the Russian and Ukrainian sides will begin on May 15.
"Everything will depend on their progress from now on," Peskov told TASS, answering a question about the possibility of continuing negotiations for several days.
On the same day, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova announced that the Russian delegation had arrived in Istanbul for talks with Ukraine and was ready for serious work. According to her, the purpose of these discussions is to "eliminate the root causes of the conflict, to establish a long-term lasting peace in the historical perspective."
On May 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin initiated direct negotiations, inviting the Ukrainian side to resume dialogue on May 15 in Istanbul.
On the eve of the meeting, the Russian leader approved the composition of experts for negotiations with Ukraine. The delegation will be headed by Vladimir Medinsky, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation. On the same day, the head of state held a meeting to prepare for the upcoming negotiations.
