Analysts have calculated the number of vehicles in Russia

As of the beginning of this year, almost 62 million vehicles of various types were registered in Russia. This was stated by Sergey Udalov, Executive Director of Autostat, the agency reported on May 14.

According to him, over the past five years, the fleet of vehicles in Russia has grown by 6%. So, at the beginning of 2020, there were 58.63 million vehicles in the country.

The number of passenger cars increased by 7% during this period and reached 47.48 million units. Light commercial vehicles (LCVs) have increased by 3% in five years, and their fleet now stands at 4.26 million units. Trailers and semi—trailers increased the most in the fleet volume - by 20% to 4.03 million units.

There was a decrease in other categories of vehicles. Thus, the number of trucks decreased by 3% (to 3.67 million units), and buses — by 8% (to 0.38 million units). The motorcycle fleet sank the most — by 10% (up to 2.16 million units).

The day before, Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency, said that sales of new passenger cars by the end of 2025 could decrease by 20% compared to the previous year and reach 1.25 million cars.

On May 7, it became known that by the end of April, 102.1 thousand new passenger cars were sold in Russia, which is 25.5% less than in the same month last year. Haval Jolion became the Russian market leader in the crossover and SUV segment in April.
