Trump urged to wait for good news on Ukraine in the coming days

US President Donald Trump said that good news on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine may appear in the coming days. He announced this on May 14 during a meeting with the Emir of Qatar in Doha.
"I think there will be good news from there today and maybe tomorrow. To be honest, maybe on Friday. We'll see," Trump stressed.
On May 12, Trump said that a possible meeting of representatives of Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul was a very important event. Trump expressed confidence that significant results could be achieved during the negotiations between Moscow and Kiev, which would contribute to a peaceful settlement of the conflict.
Earlier in the day, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia's approach to direct negotiations with Ukraine met with understanding and support from the leaders of many states. Peskov also stressed that Russia is committed to a serious search for ways to achieve a long-term peaceful settlement.
On May 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Russia was offering Ukraine to resume direct talks in Istanbul on May 15. Peskov later said that the proposal voiced by the President of the Russian Federation indicates a real desire for peace.
