The State Duma proposed to update the design of the hundred-ruble bill

The State Duma (DG) wants to update the design of the 100-ruble banknote. This was announced on May 13 by Dmitry Gusev, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Control Committee, representing the Fair Russia — For Truth party.
He clarified that the bill depicts a map of Russia, but it does not include the new regions of Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics (DPR, LPR), Zaporizhia and Kherson regions. He recalled that the money entered circulation in 2022, before the official annexation of the regions to the Russian territory.
"Since the banknote appeared earlier, the changes did not have time to reflect. <...> We propose to finalize the old design. And change old bills as they wear out," he wrote on the Telegram channel.
In an address to the head of the Central Bank (CB) of the Russian Federation, Elvira Nabiullina, which appeared at the disposal of Izvestia, Gusev stressed that an objective display of the country's map is important for residents of the reunified territories and other subjects of the Russian Federation, as well as for the Russian military.
The deputy noted that the Bank of Russia has many other primary tasks, and suggested changing the bills as they wear out. According to him, this will allow the banknotes to be updated at no extra cost.
On April 7, Vasily Prokofiev, Director of the Central Bank's Cash Circulation Department, announced that the Central Bank was considering the possibility of adding the image of the Russian flag to new banknotes. He stressed that the proposals of experts will be taken into account when developing a new version of the banknotes.
