In the Rivne region of Ukraine, two young men were detained for attempting to blow up police officers. This was announced on May 12 in the press service of the office of the Prosecutor General of the country.
"Two residents of Rivne were given a notice of suspicion of committing a terrorist act by prior agreement by a group of persons (part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)," the report says.
According to the investigation, the boys received instructions on how to collect explosives and the coordinates for its installation. The teenagers placed explosive devices in an abandoned building. After the call from their accomplice, the police arrived at the place where the bomb was planted. The explosive device was activated, but no one was injured in the incident.
It is specified that the boys were detained. They are arrested without the possibility of posting bail.
Earlier, on April 4, the media reported that an official and his wife were injured in a car explosion in Dnepropetrovsk (the Ukrainian name of the city since 2016 is Dnipro). Police officers, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the Prosecutor's Office worked at the scene.
