Eight schoolchildren will represent Russia at the International Artificial Intelligence Olympiad in Beijing, the AI Alliance told Izvestia on May 12. The competition will be held on August 2-9.
The selection process, which lasted three days, was attended by 10th and 11th grade students Matvey Belyaev (Vladivostok), Mikhail Vershinin (Novosibirsk), Timur Garifullin (Ufa), Danis Dinmukhametov and Artyom Mazur (Moscow), Oleg Drokanov, Konstantin Sigalov, Andrey Khlopotny (St. Petersburg).
"Each tour lasted for six hours. During this time, the participants solved tasks using tabular data, computer vision, and natural language processing. The main thing that the participant had to be able to do was to allocate his time correctly, write code quickly and make decisions. The format is similar to the international school Olympiads in mathematics and computer science (IMO and IOI) and was brought closer to the IOAI finals," explained the Alliance in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
At the end of each round, the participants received a certain number of points, which were summed up at the end of three days. In addition to the results on the face-to-face round, the points for the online course and the recommendation of the coaching staff for each participant were taken into account for the final rating.
Earlier, on May 6, Zurab Bely, head of Java development at Reksoft, told Izvestia that over the past year, the number of vacancies with the keywords "AI coach" or "AI training" has almost tripled. The rapid development of generative AI and the need to adapt it to specific business tasks have caused a sharp increase in demand for specialists in human-artificial intelligence interaction.
