Russians started spending more money on travel


Russians began to travel 10% more. Spending on flights increased by 30%, on trains — by 3%, and on hotels — by 11%. This follows from the data of the Post Bank, which was reviewed by Izvestia on May 13. Experts analyzed spending on cards from January 1 to April 30, 2025, compared with the same period in 2024.
The average bill for air tickets increased by 14% to 25,080 rubles, and for trains — by 9%, to 4,251 rubles. The average check for hotel stays increased by 11%, to 4,070 rubles.
At the same time, the cost of sightseeing programs has increased. Tourists spent 13% more on this type of leisure, the average check increased by 10% and amounted to 744 rubles.
"The well-being of Russians is growing, which allows them to travel more. It helps you discover new places and learn about the history of your native country. In addition, during trips you can try regional cuisine, take a break from the mundane and get new impressions," the bank's experts noted.
Earlier, on April 21, it was reported that the traditional beach holiday is gradually losing ground. Russians are increasingly interested in author tours from local residents (25%), sanatorium recreation (24%), railway routes (11%) and gastronomic trips (10%). This is stated in the results of a study of the omnichannel marketing platform Calltouch.
