Many foreign companies are interested in returning to Russia and are actively negotiating. Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of Russia for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), told reporters on May 8.

"I think the forecast remains, and we already see that some companies are returning, it's just not very public, but, of course, this process is already underway," Dmitriev told TASS reporters.

According to him, there is currently an increase in the registration of foreign trademarks — many companies are actively engaged in this. Dmitriev noted that business is acutely reacting to changes in the geopolitical situation, and stressed that a number of companies confirm their interest and are already conducting direct negotiations with Russia.

The Special Representative also expressed his forecast: already in the second quarter of this year, the first case of a foreign company returning to the Russian market is possible.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on March 18 that some foreign companies that had left Russia were going to return, and the government should closely monitor this. He recalled that the Russian Federation "did not expel anyone," and those Western companies that want to return should offer competitive conditions. In addition, the interests of domestic companies will always be a priority for Russia.
