The Verkhovna Rada has ratified an agreement with the United States on mineral resources. This was announced on May 8 by Rada deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak in his Telegram channel.

According to him, 338 deputies voted for the ratification of the agreement with the United States, that is, the decision was made unanimously, without abstentions. Thus, the Rada has ratified an intergovernmental agreement that will create an investment fund.

In addition, the deputy published data on how the votes were distributed among the factions. The Servant of the People faction of President Vladimir Zelensky had the most votes — 210.

On May 1, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced that Washington and Kiev had signed an agreement on natural resources. In addition, the countries have concluded a deal on the creation of an investment fund for the reconstruction of Ukraine.

The next day, member of the U.S. House of Representatives Marjorie Taylor Green said that the U.S.-Ukrainian deal on mineral resources could lead to a new armed conflict.
