260 road accidents have occurred in Russia over the past day

Over the past day, 260 road accidents have occurred on Russian roads, in which 17 people were killed and 296 injured. 13 of the dead were passengers and drivers of vehicles. This was reported to Izvestia on May 7 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

As a result of 74 accidents, 36 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 38 outside their area of operation, four pedestrians were killed, and 72 more were injured in various degrees of severity. 46 accidents involving minors were registered on Russian roads over the past day, as a result of which 47 young road users were injured, including 21 passengers, eight cyclists and three motor transport drivers under the age of 16. There are no dead children.

The State Traffic Inspectorate reminded motorists that the lives and health of their passengers depend entirely on their driving skills, driving experience, well-being and law-abiding driving behavior. Drivers were urged to reserve time to respond adequately to a possible change in the traffic situation and strictly follow the rules for transporting children.

In some regions of the country, traffic is temporarily blocked due to a difficult flood situation or unfavorable weather. Thus, in the Tyumen region, due to flooding of the roadway, the temporary suspension of traffic on 13 highways of regional significance continues.
