At least eight civilians were killed, two were missing and 35 were injured as a result of Indian strikes on Pakistan. This was announced on May 7 by the Director General of the Public Relations Department of the Pakistan Army (ISPR), Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry.

"Major General Ahmed Sharif <...> stated that eight Pakistanis were martyred, and 35 others were injured as a result of Indian strikes," Geo News channel clarified.

Chaudhry said that the Indian Air Force (IAF) had attacked the civilian infrastructure of the cities of Sialkot, Shakargarh and Muridke, as well as the village of Kotli. As a result, mosques, pharmacies, residential buildings, cultural and medical institutions were damaged.

On May 7, the Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor, during which they carried out nine attacks on the terrorist infrastructure of Pakistan and the occupied Jammu and Kashmir. In turn, Pakistan retaliated after the attacks from the Indian side. It was clarified that the country's air force shot down three Indian Air Force fighter jets, including two Rafale aircraft.

Later, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry stressed that the "reckless actions" of the Indian side brought the two states that possess nuclear weapons closer to a major conflict.
