The Pakistani Foreign Ministry, commenting on the attacks by the Indian armed forces on Pakistani territory, stressed that the "reckless actions" of the Indian side brought the two states that possess nuclear weapons closer to a major conflict. The corresponding statement was published on the Ministry's website on May 7.

"India's reckless actions have brought the two nuclear-armed states closer to a major conflict. The situation continues to evolve. Pakistan reserves the right to respond appropriately at any time and in any place of its choice in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter and in accordance with international law," the publication says.

The ministry also noted that the Indian Air Force, remaining in Indian airspace, violated Pakistan's sovereignty with remote weapons, targeting civilians across the international border in Muridka and Bahawalpur, as well as through the line of control in Kotli and Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

"India's act of aggression resulted in the martyrdom of civilians, including women and children. This act of aggression has also created a serious threat to commercial air travel. We strongly condemn India's cowardly actions," the Pakistani Foreign Ministry added.

On May 7, the Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor, during which they carried out nine attacks on the terrorist infrastructure of Pakistan and the occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

In turn, Pakistan began retaliatory actions after the attacks from the Indian side. It was clarified that the country's air force shot down three Indian Air Force fighter jets, including two Rafale aircraft.
