Investigators have completed investigations into the case of a Lithuanian citizen who is accused of desecrating a memorial in Sudzha and justifying terrorism. This was announced on May 6 by the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia (IC RF).
"He is accused of publicly justifying terrorism, otherwise providing material support to a mercenary, financing terrorism, illegally crossing the state border of the Russian Federation, looting, desecrating symbols of Russia's military glory and insulting the memory of defenders of the Fatherland, damaging a military grave and monument," the Telegram channel says.
Law enforcement officers established that the mercenary illegally entered the territory of the Kursk region together with another soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and two more Lithuanian citizens. On November 11, 2024, an attacker desecrated a military grave in the village of Kazachya Loknya in the Sudzhansky district of the Kursk region. After the defendant damaged the memorial, he posted photos of the crime on his social network page.
In addition, on the same day, he stole food from a store in the village of Zaoleshenka, Sudzha district.
According to the press service of the Investigative Committee, the attacker repeatedly delivered cars from Lithuania to the territory of Ukraine for mercenaries and military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
In addition, the Lithuanian citizen also made a public statement in which he approved of the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall concert hall. It is reported that he was put on the international wanted list. The criminal case against him has been transferred to the court.
Earlier, on April 25, a Belgian citizen who fought on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was sentenced in absentia to 14 years in prison. The person involved arrived in Ukraine in the spring of 2022, where he joined an armed group.
