Bundestag deputy ruled out banning the AdG party

The ban of the German party Alternative for Germany (AdG) will cause mass protests, as a quarter of voters will lose their preferred party, Wolfgang Wiele, a Bundestag deputy from the party, told Izvestia.
"Under the leadership of established parties in Germany, many authorities are trying to politically discriminate against the AdG and thus distort political competition in their favor. However, a ban on the AdG can only be imposed by a decision of the Federal Constitutional Court. At present it is not foreseen, there is not even a corresponding statement, and there are no grounds for it, because the AdG is an unequivocally democratic party," the German parliamentarian emphasized.
He also noted the failures of the outgoing Olaf Scholz government.
"Scholz's three-party alliance was under great strain from the very beginning. The FDP (Free Democratic Party of Germany. - Ed.), which partly belonged to the middle class, submitted to the pressure of its left-wing partners, but lost sight of the problems of its own electorate. When it tried to strengthen its position, it led to the collapse of the coalition, but the trust of voters could not be regained," emphasized Wiele.
At the same time, the German MP believes that Merz's new government is unlikely to achieve any special successes
"Decisive changes in migration policy - a huge burden for Germany, we should not expect. This means that in general, the Merz government will basically carry on with 'business as usual'," the Bundestag member added.
