The former leader of the German AFD announced plans to create a new party

The former leader of the German Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, Frauke Petry, plans to create a new party that will adhere to a liberal course in economic policy. She said this in an interview with Die Welt newspaper on May 5.
The main directions of the association are expected to be the development of the German economy and the establishment of cultural ties with Western countries.
Petri noted that the party in the project, whose name has not yet been disclosed, will be "el dorado" for businessmen and private entrepreneurs. She also stressed that this would be the very "free proposal independent of the state" that would fill the gap between the parties of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and the AFD.
The draft of a new political alliance is planned to be completed by 2026 for participation in the elections. According to Petri, non-partisan citizens with life and professional experience can become members of the association.
Frauke Petry served as the leader of the AfG from 2013 to 2017.
On May 2, the AFD was classified as right-wing extremist by the decision of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution of Germany. This action was supported by almost half of the Germans. On May 5, it became known that the AfD had filed a lawsuit with the court asking it to reconsider or change the decision to recognize their activities as dangerous to the country's democracy.
