Hungary and Switzerland supported the success of peace talks in Ukraine

Hungary and Switzerland advocate reaching peace talks on the conflict in Ukraine with the participation of the United States and Russia. This was announced on May 5 by Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Peter Szijjarto after a meeting in Bern with his Swiss counterpart Ignazio Cassis.
"It is clear to both of us that no solution [to the Ukrainian crisis] can be found on the battlefield. Only negotiations can put an end to the conflict, and only such negotiations can make sense, in which all the warring parties will be represented," the MTI news agency quoted the Hungarian minister as saying.
Budapest and Bern believe that a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine can only be achieved through diplomatic means. Szijjarto also noted that Hungary and Switzerland oppose the politicization of international organizations, as this process will make it impossible to achieve peaceful settlements.
Earlier in the day, Ukraine's permanent representative to the United Nations, Andriy Melnyk, in an interview with RBC-Ukraine, stated that he was tired of the Ukrainian conflict. According to him, not only the partners of the state, but also the whole world are tired of him.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov recalled on April 30 that Russian President Vladimir Putin's statement that Russia is ready to negotiate on the Ukrainian conflict without preconditions is still relevant. However, no information has been received from Kiev on this matter.
