- The political scientist warned about the possible disappearance of Germany in the current format

In Germany, the situation is being reanimated when opposition is growing within society. The country may cease to exist in its current form. Alexey Mukhin, Director General of the Center for Political Information, shared this opinion with Izvestia on May 5.
"Under the pretext of political struggle, political competition is being eliminated, which has a very harmful effect on democratic processes. Taking into account the experience of Germany in the 20th century, all these symptoms are extremely alarming and may indicate that Germany will cease to exist in its current form," Mukhin said.
According to the expert, Friedrich Merz, the leader of the German Christian Democratic Union (CDU), is concerned about the intentions, given the historical context.
"The future Chancellor Merz is trying to mobilize the German economy by putting it on a war footing. This worries both his political opponents and people who remember the historical context of Germany well in the 1930s," Mukhin said.
The political scientist also stressed that the emerging split in German society could indeed lead to the establishment of a dictatorship-like regime in Kiev.
"A lot depends on what tools will be given to Mr. Merz from the outside, what powers will be provided. If the rhetoric of confrontation between the West and the East, Western Europe and Russia, is used, then it is safe to say that the Ukrainization of Germany has not only begun, but is in full swing," the expert concluded.
On May 2, it became known that the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution of Germany classified the AfD as a right-wing extremist organization threatening democracy in the country. According to the authorities, this step reduces the obstacles to monitoring the party with the help of special services and allows for better monitoring of its activities.
In turn, Russian Senator Alexei Pushkov called the May 5 attacks on the AFD a sign of the beginning of the self-destruction of the state. He noted that 48% of Germans surveyed consider the party's program to be right-wing extremist.
