An organizer of a boat ride that collided with a rock was detained in Dagestan.

In the Republic of Dagestan, an entrepreneur was detained who organized a boat trip during which the boat collided with a rock. This was reported on May 2 on the website of the Western Interregional Investigative Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

According to the investigation, the suspect organized the water transportation, knowing that the man hired as a boat driver did not have a corresponding diploma. A boatmaster with people on board violated the speed limit and collided with a rocky shore, as a result of which one woman was killed and the rest of the passengers were injured.

"A criminal case has been opened against an individual entrepreneur on the grounds of a crime under paragraph "b" of Part 2 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, resulting in the death of a person by negligence")," the agency said in a statement.
