Deptrans recommended Muscovites to ride only on winter tires due to bad weather

The Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development of the city of Moscow recommended motorists of the capital to drive only on winter tires due to bad weather. The corresponding post was published on May 2 in the Telegram channel of the department.

"It's raining and snowing in places in the city — we recommend traveling only on winter tires or using public transport for trips," deptrans points out with reference to the Traffic Management Center (TSODD).

The department urged drivers to slow down in advance near pedestrian crossings, avoid sudden maneuvers, observe speed limits and distance, and not be distracted by gadgets while driving.

It is better to plan trips to nature for the second half of the holidays, meteorologists recommend.

Earlier in the day, Evgeny Tishkovets, a leading specialist at the Phobos weather center, reported that the snow that fell in Moscow on Friday night broke the 116-year-old record for precipitation. According to the forecaster, precipitation is about 40-45% of the monthly norm.
