Do not count on high temperatures in May, as the positive temperature deviation has already been interrupted. This was announced to Izvestia on May 2 by Evgeny Tishkovets, a leading specialist at the Phobos weather center.

According to him, on Friday, May 2, Muscovites expect cloudy skies, short-term sleet, rain, which will gradually weaken and end by 15:00. The air temperature in the capital is forecast from +5 to +8 degrees, which is 10 points below the climatic norm, and wind gusts up to 13 m/s, the forecaster noted.

Tishkovets stressed that on the night of Saturday, May 3, frosts will hit 0...-3 degrees, ice is expected on the roads, and light rains will occur in the afternoon, it will warm up to +10...+13 degrees and the snow will melt by noon.

"The final month of spring has already interrupted such a positive deviation. <...> The average monthly air temperature in most of the Russian plain, including in the metropolitan region, will be a stretch to meet the climatic norm, <...> therefore, we can count on some high temperatures in May, especially in the summer, which we had in the month of April, where there were seven heat records in Moscow alone, I would not, " said the forecaster.

Nevertheless, by the end of the month, spring will begin large-scale preparations for the meteorological summer, which will start without delay along with the calendar, concluded the leading specialist of the Phobos center.

Earlier in the day, Tishkovets also reported that the snow that fell in Moscow on Friday night broke the 116-year-old record for precipitation. According to the forecaster, precipitation is about 40-45% of the monthly norm.
