American diplomats held a meeting with representatives of the interim Syrian authorities on April 29 in New York. This was announced on May 1 by the official representative of the US State Department, Tammy Bruce.

"U.S. representatives met with representatives of the Syrian interim authorities on April 29 in New York," Bruce said at a briefing.
