An undercooked barbecue can pose a serious threat to health, including the risk of infection with parasites. This was announced on Wednesday, April 30, by Nadezhda Litvinova-Grazion, a nutritionist and nutritionist at the SM Clinic.

"Raw or insufficiently fried pork meat may contain parasites such as trichinella, which cause trichinosis. The disease is accompanied by muscle pain and fever. Bovine tapeworm is no less dangerous, which can also be found in meat," the doctor told Gazeta.Ru».

According to her, the larva of the parasites has a strong shell that survives with insufficient heat treatment. In addition, according to her, there is a risk of contracting bacterial infections. Unroasted meat may contain pathogenic bacteria, especially salmonella and E. Coli.

On April 24, Janeta Borlakova, an endocrinologist and nutritionist at the Russian Railways-Medicine family clinic, told Izvestia how much barbecue it is acceptable to eat in one day. She noted that it is better to give preference to low-fat meats such as chicken or turkey for cooking shish kebab, the doctor noted. And the serving size should not exceed 100-150 g — this is enough to enjoy the taste without feeling heavy in the stomach.
