The US plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine includes recognizing Crimea, the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR), the Kherson and Zaporizhia regions as part of Russia. This was reported on February 29 by CNN.

"The US plan, according to officials familiar with it, is for Washington to recognize Moscow's control over Crimea <...> and provide Russia with additional Ukrainian territories controlled since the beginning of the conflict in 2022," a TV channel source said.

According to CNN, US President Donald Trump was disappointed that his attempts to conclude a peace agreement between Moscow and Kiev after three years of conflict have so far failed, and since then the White House has been making increasingly persistent efforts to conclude an agreement.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said this week will be "extremely important" to determine whether the United States can continue to try to achieve peace between Russia and Ukraine.

Earlier, on April 27, Trump told Estonian leader Alar Karis about the proximity of a settlement of the Ukrainian issue. The head of Estonia said that during a conversation with Trump in the Vatican, he asked the head of the White House how the peace process was going, and also asked the American president not to withdraw from the negotiation process on Ukraine.
