Earthquake of magnitude 4.9 recorded in Turkey


An earthquake of magnitude 4.9 occurred in the eastern region of Turkey. This was reported on April 27 on the website of the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).
It is specified that the seismic event was recorded 44 km southwest of the Turkish city of Elazig, which is home to 298 thousand people. The earthquake was located at a depth of 10 km.

The State Geological Agency of Australia on the same day reported that an earthquake of magnitude 6.0 occurred in the South Pacific Ocean, west of Macquarie Island, which belongs to the Australian state of Tasmania.
