India and Pakistan have not yet turned to Russia for help in resolving their conflict. This was announced on April 25 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
"There have been no such requests," he told TASS in response to a question about whether Russia was ready to assist in resolving the conflict.
He added that Russian President Vladimir Putin has no plans yet to hold contacts with the leaders of India and Pakistan amid the worsening situation in the region.
In India, a terrorist attack took place near the city of Pahalgam on April 22, which killed 27 civilians. The Resistance Front, which is recognized as a terrorist organization in India, claimed responsibility for the incident.
On April 25, the Indian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on the decision to suspend the 1960 Indus River Treaty and cut off the supply of water from its stream to Pakistan. At the same time, the Indian authorities announced the suspension of issuing visas to Pakistani citizens.
On the same day, Indian Interior Minister Amit Shah called for the expulsion of all Pakistani citizens. According to the ANI News agency, Indian ministers and other senior officials of the country will hold a meeting on the Indus Waters treaty.
