Seismologist predicted a large-scale earthquake in Turkey after 2045

The earthquake that occurred on April 23 in Istanbul was a harbinger of another, larger one. This was announced on April 24 by Turkish seismologist Ahmet Ercan.
According to him, an earthquake of magnitude 7-7.2 in Turkey is likely to occur between 2045 and 2075 in the Thrace region.
"The source of the new earthquake will be located in the same place, at a depth of 7 to 13 km, but the tremors will be 22 times more powerful," the expert said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
He stressed that those living in houses built after 1999 should worry the least, because then stricter housing regulations were adopted, clarifies "Газета.Ru ".
Three earthquakes occurred in Turkey the day before. The first 3.9-magnitude tremors were recorded off the coast of Istanbul's Silivri district. After that, an earthquake of magnitude 6.2 occurred in Istanbul, as a result of which 236 people were injured.
Next, a magnitude 4.4 seismic event was recorded off the coast of Buyukcekmece in the Sea of Marmara. According to seismologists from the Turkish Disaster Management Authority (AFAD), about 30 more aftershocks of magnitude 2 to 5 occurred after the earthquake off the coast of the Marmara Sea.
In turn, Turkish Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmus warned that citizens should be prepared for a new earthquake in Istanbul, which could occur at any moment.
