- Kostin admitted the possibility of reducing the Central Bank's key rate by the end of 2025

There is a possibility that the key rate of the Central Bank of Russia will gradually decrease by the end of 2025. This was announced on April 24 by the head of VTB Andrey Kostin during a business dialogue with clients.
"The key rate will remain high for a long time. We believe that there are grounds for it to begin to decrease somewhat by the end of the year, but gradually, say, to 19%," TASS quoted him as saying.
At the same time, according to Kostin, the key rate will remain quite high over the next two years.
A regular meeting of the Central Bank's board of Directors will be held on April 25. According to the Deputy Chairman of the Board of SDM-Bank, the head of the Treasury, Eduard Lushin, expressed the opinion on April 21 that the regulator would leave the key rate unchanged.
